2001 The McKnight Foundation Distinguished Artist Award for contributions to the advancement of the arts in Minnesota, The McKnight Foundation. The award included a book and CD about Warland's life and career plus a significant cash award.
1999 ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, ASCAP. Given for the Dale Warland Singers' commitment to the performance of music written after 1972. Award also won in 1996, 1993 and 1992.
